cooking
I have been in a mood to cook lately. I have always really enjoyed cooking but I just don't have as much time as I would like to try new recipes and put a lot of time into it. Lately for some reason I have been wanting to try new things or things I made in my cooking class years ago. I think part of it is that Tommy is taking a nutrition class. I have loved having him come home and tell me things he has learned about. He does not want to really eat "empty calories" anymore and he has been making lots of small changes. It makes me really proud of him and really excited. I always loved the things I learned in my nutrition classes. They were by far my favorite because I could apply them and I knew they would help me. I never really remembered the science behind the things I would learn and that was always the hardest part for me to remember and that is what made my nutrition classes hard for me. As Tommy has learned the reason behind things that is what has helped him want to change. Maybe that is what makes me want to cook more. I can actually make more healthy things and he is more open to eat them. He is fine with us only eating out once a week for our date nigjht which makes me super excited. This week I made pesto sauce, from scratch, burcetta, fish tacos, and chicken cordon blue. These are all out of the ordinary for us. I don't know if you are this way but I tend to have meals we like and kind of rotate through them. I am not always brave to try new things. We have learned that somethings only need to be tried once and we don't need to make them again. For example chicken cordon blue is not one of our favorites. We absolutely loved the fish tacos and pesto and burcetta, Hopefully we can continue to make time for some more new recipes even though we are back in school,
