Weekend in San Diego

This past weekend was so much fun and eventful. We had been planning a San Diego trip before Courtney and Brett head back to school. We were all excited to get away and some spend time together for our last Hoo-rah of the summer. . We had been planning to go kayaking out in the ocean to view the caves out there. A few days before we were going to leave Courtney said she found a concert in the park she thought would be fun for us to go to. Tommy and I love music so we thought it sounded like a fun idea. On our way down there my parents surprised me and told me that we were actually going to a Blake Shelton concert and The Band Perry would be opening for him. I was so excited but the funny thing is I was a little bummed that I didn't bring my cowgirl hat  that i just bought a couple weeks before. The only concerts I have ever been to are at the fair concerts and music in  the park concerts for the city. LOL In April we stayed in this really nice hotel for my cousins wedding down there and my parents thought it would be fun to go there again. They have one of the best breakfast for a hotel I have ever been to. We headed down there right when Tommy got off work and surprisingly didn't hit too much traffic for a Friday night. We decided it would be fun to go in the hot tub and play some games. We thoroughly enjoyed it. Saturday morning we enjoyed breakfast and headed off to go kayaking. All of us had canoed before, some of us had kayaked, but none of us had ever kayaked on the ocean in water with waves. They weren't even that big but man did they make some of us sea sick. Tommy was the one it affected the most. He enjoyed the breakfast a lot. Maybe a little too much. He ended up loosing all of his breakfast. No fun if you ask me. He said after that he felt fine. Tommy is really good at steering and making the kayak go. For those of you who don't know this about Tommy he actually canoed competitively when he was younger. He was trying to teach me. I think sometimes it is hard for him to understand that I never really played sports and that he has to be patient with me and how long it takes me to learn things. I also have to learn to be more patient with him as he is trying to give me tips to help me. It took us a while to get going together but after a while I think we did pretty good. As we were trying to get past some of the waves in the beginning I really thought we were going to tip. I tend to panic sometimes but we ended up being okay as long as we tried to keep the Kayak as straight as possible. The view was so beautiful and the water was a perfect temperature. We actually even saw some animals in the water which was really cool. Sea Lions were super close to us. I wish we had a better record of everything. We rented a camera to take pictures but they did not come out good at all. At least I have this to remember our experience.
After kayaking we enjoyed some time at the pool at the hotel. It was really so nice to be able to enjoy the pool and it wasn't even that cold. After we relaxed a little and got ready to go to the concert. We got there right when the gates opened so that we could get a good seat. The concert was at a amphitheater so there was reserved seats for some but our seats were in the grass area so whoever got there first got to sit closer. It was a lot of fun to be there together and to hear they perform. I don't know if its the older I get or what but really parts of it felt like hell on earth. It makes me sad how crazy people get when they are drunk and don't even realize what they are doing. I feel like some people forget their self worth and let others take advantage of them and it makes me sad. Overall though it was a super fun night.
