Food

So I thought it would be fun to post some of my favorite foods. Tommy and I have been trying to do good about only eating out once a week for our date night. Sometimes it gets hard with work and school and being busy with homework but we have done really good. Its really helpful that we are living with my parents right now. My mom and I take turns cooking which is really nice. It allows each of us to have a break. Tommy and I actually really love to cook together when we have time. He is really good at cooking. He has a few things that he makes so much better than I could. When it comes to meat I leave it up to him. I will eat meat but its not my favorite. I HATE touching raw meat and washing it. If Tommy is home that that is his job.

If you haven't heard Tommy can make some yummy ribs. Ever since his brother taught him how to make them we don't really even like to get ribs at a restaurant. We prefer making them at home. Everyone in my family are huge fans too. When they came home for the holidays all of them requested Tommy's Ribs. We love to eat our ribs with homemade mashed potatoes. (I like to leave the skins on, use milk, sour cream, butter, and salt and pepper.)

Another thing that we love to make is Puerto Rican food. Pastillios (Tommy calls them empanadas), rice and beans. I was lucky enough to learn how to make these from Evelyn Nieves on my mission. It is fun because it is very similar to Dominican food which Tommy Loved eating on his mission. Its fun that it brings back memories for both of us from serving our missions. Another family favorite for sure.

Tommy makes some great enchiladas. We both love authentic Mexican food and we love them with some home made beans. We can not forget the avocados though. Can't forget the eggs, rice and spam. One of Tommys all time favorites. I use to hate this meal but it has actually grown on me. As long as we get the low sodium/lite spam it tastes a lot better. Its funny because now Tommy even prefers it. We also love lasagna, homemade banana bread, and home made pizza. We have been trying to eat healthier, some of the healthier things we like to eat are soups (taco, or minestrone), stir fry, gyros, fajitas, tacos, and salads.

We love to BBQ. Mom and Dad have a really nice set up and we have loved using the BBQ. So fast, easy, and meat and veggies taste so good off the grill.

We have decided that we don't always got to spend a lot and go to a sit down restaurant for a date night. We have really been loving saving money and going to quicker places. We both absolutely love chipotle. We love the taste and the corn there is AMAZING. If you haven't tried the wraps at farmer boys you should. The BBQ chicken ranch wrap is my favorite.  I have always really loved in-n-out too.

Well thats all I can think of for now.
