Back to School

Recently Tommy and I went back to school. It was so nice to have 2 weeks off and be able to spend time with family and relax for the holidays. We stay so busy with working and getting assignments done sometimes it feels that we don't seem to have time to do anything else. For those of you who don't know we are going to school at BYU Idaho. We started doing the pathway program which is really cool. You start by taking just two classes a quarter for the first year. It is suppose to get you use to going back to school for those who have been out for a while. Then you are allowed to start classes that go towards an associates or a bachelor degree. The really cool part is that we get to go to school for a lot cheaper then a regular university and it works with our schedule.  We do the online program, so it is very flexible. We really enjoy the things we learn. We are both getting our degree in marriage and family studies. We hope afterwards to be able to do something to help people. Tommy is thinking of being acollege professor or a guidance counselor. I am thinking of maybe being a teacher, or speech therapist. Who knows though. We are taking a class right now and its making me want to do something where I am helping kids some how. It breaks my heart to hear about kids being mistreated. Everyone deserves to have a father and a mother that love them and care about them and teach them good and bad, right and wrong. We love learning and doing the program together. It is really nice to be able to do homework together and be able to talk and discuss the things we are learning. So a long with staying focused and organized with work and school we both have decided that we really want to have a change in our life. We have both gained some weight since getting married and we just feel unhealthy. We have decided to try to make small changes in our lives to help us be healthy. We have been trying to be better about exercising and living a healthier lifestyle. My sister gave me a great idea. She has a goal to make a change each month or to cut something out of her diet. Because we want to make a life style change we don't want to just cut and change everything. We have done that before and it doesn't last long. We are trying to be consistent and work together so that we can be healthy. It already is such a good feeling. I am so proud of Tommy for his changes so far and he is such a great example to me.
