I absolutely love this time of year. I love the colder weather, food, traditions, spending time with loved ones, Christmas movies and music, giving gifts, and just how happy it all makes me feel. This year we have already done a lot of wonderful things for the holidays. We got a nice visit from Tommy's brother Edward, and family. We loved being able to spend some quality time with them. We went to San Jose for Thanksgiving. We got to spend time with most of Tommy's family and even got to go to see Aunt Donna and Uncle J'earl which was a nice treat. I have so many wonderful memories going and staying with them growing up. It seems as you get older and life gets busier it is not as easy to make as many trips. Plus getting married you gain even more family and things get even harder to figure out. You want to make sure you make time for everyone. I have always thought it is important to share the holidays with both sides of the family. We are looking forward to being with my family for Christmas this year. Last week we had a Miller Christmas party. Dad invited Uncle Larry's family. We are sad to say some of them got sick and were unable to make it but we sure did have fun with those that were able to come. It was a small group but we really enjoyed our time together. Tommy and I are so exited to finally be able to almost be done with this semester. We are getting closer and closer to getting our bachelors which is just so fun. We got exciting news today. BRETT IS ENGAGED. We are so excited for him and can not wait to meet his finance Kenzie. I already have so much love for her and I have not even met her yet. They will be married in April.
The holidays just would not be the holidays without some Tim Tams. So good! One of our favorite treats.
While we were in San Jose we got to go to the Oakland Temple. Tommy and I have still managed to make sure we go to the temple monthly since getting married. We totally forgot with the holidays. We managed to make a family temple day out of it which was really fun.
One of my favorite traditions is decorating the tree together as a family and drinking egg nog. So yummy!
I am absolutely loving my calling. I get to work with the girls 8 to 11 at church for activity day girls. Not only is this super fun to get to know them and try to teach them but it works perfect with my school schedule. I am feeling like I am getting to know the girls better and I am just loving them so much. They teach me a lot and I can not wait to get to do more activities with them. Last week we went to Chaffey and saw Shrek the play. It was really great as all their plays on. It was cute some of the girls fell asleep. I am sure it was past their bedtimes and they were not use to staying up that late.
