Temple...Random day at the beach

So Saturday our family had been planning on going to the Temple in Newport and than going to the beach. Let's just say, it ended up not happening. Ever since Tommy and I have gotten married we made it a goal to go to the temple once a month. We have faithfully gone the whole time and we have never missed a month. So when my family told me they were not going I already knew we had to go since it was the 30th of August and we had not been yet. We did some cleaning and relaxed and headed to the temple around noon. It was fun to be able to spend some time just the 2 of us talking on the way down there. It has been a while since we have had a random fun day so we figured why not see what we might do. We were able to do some temple work. It was such a beautiful day down there. The weather has been so hot at our house even though it was still hot in Newport the breeze helped to make it better. We took some pictures and were hungry so we headed to go eat somewhere. We tried to go to Rita's in Newport but the traffic was insane considering it was a holiday week-end. We gave up on that and decided to go to Balboa pier and eat at Ruby's. We really like their burgers. Again the weather there was beautiful and it was not nearly as crowded as the parking by Rita's. My husband is so good to me and knows how much I enjoy shopping. I love to go shopping at stores that are not near my house for some reason. Anytime we go on a trip someone I like to check out the stores. So we decided to find some stores. We had fun buying ourselves a few new things and were ready to head home. Tommy really wanted Rita's and we had heard that there was one in Huntington so we decided we should head there. I was looking on the website and found they made one in Anaheim. This was exciting news since it was on the way home and we hopefully wouldn't have a hassle finding parking. Sure enough it wasn't too far away and kind of on the way home. We enjoyed it. We are so excited that they are starting to have more Rita's on the west coast for us to enjoy. It brings back memories from my mission. Our day was just so much fun it is hard to put into words. It felt like our dating days, random but so fun just being together and enjoying quality time with each other. Not worrying about callings, work, school. It was just us being us and it was great. The rest of our weekend was good too. Sunday we enjoyed church, took a nice long nap, made dinner, Tommy even had a buddy from his mission come by and I got to meet his wife. Its always nice to see old friends. Monday we washed all the cars, rented a movie, BBQ with the family, and played games. It was a great relaxing way to end the weekend. So nice to have 3 day week-ends and holidays to enjoy.
